Sail the M/V Nordik Express
And choose your season for adventure!

Regular weekly service from April to January
Each season brings new reasons to travel the North Shore. Early spring is a time of hope and rebirth as the ship breaks through the ice at the ports and the marine birds and mammals begin returning to the region.

In very early summer, before the mid-July to mid-August crowds, the days are warmer and the atmosphere more peaceful. At the peak of summer, the residents are on the go, while in fall fall the boat carries fewer people, sunsets are shorter, and the Coasters prepare for winter.

The fresh snows of December and Januaryare simply spectacular. Ice covers the ports once again. Adventurers seeking the challenge of harsher climates, take note.
The M/V Nordik Express travels the Middle and Lower North Shore coastline once a week from April to January. Contact a
Relais Nordik representative for exact dates and schedules. Reserve as early as possible to confirm your trip.
Relais Nordik recommends adding the following items to your suitcase or backpack:
  • Warm, waterproof clothing, even in summer
  • Good walking shoes
  • Gloves (not always necessary, but often nice to have)
  • Binoculars and your camera
Passengers on the Nordik Express wishing to disembark at the various ports should note that the ship only stops to load and unload cargo and stopovers last approximately one (1) to two (2) hours. If you would like to stay longer to explore the tourist attractions of the Lower North Shore, you may do so and then reembark the ship a few days later. Contact the Association touristique régionale de Duplessis (Duplessis Regional Tourism Association) for more information on lodging (please note that onshore lodging is not included in the Relais Nordik package).
Take your bicycle or car
The M/V Nordik Express can take motor vehicles on board, but round-trip passengers (with or without shore stay) do not need them, since the road system in North Shore communities is very limited. Instead, bring your bike to explore the villages! You can also rent a vehicle at some ports for longer outings.
A range of rates for a variety of services
Relais Nordik offers a selection of attractively priced packages that include sea passage, cabin, and meals, as well as transportation of your vehicle. See our rate chart for the combination right for you.
Rules on board the M/V Nordik Express
  • Personal baggage is limited to 20 kg per person
  • Bringing or consuming personal alcohol is prohibited. However, the M/V Nordik Express holds a restaurant alcohol license issued by the Régie des alcools permitting wine drinking in the dining room during meals.
Your safety is our key concern
The M/V Nordik Express crew adheres to Transport Canada's strictest maritime safety standards.

For the complete safety of all passengers, the vessel is fully outfitted with sophisticated equipment - electronic navigation chart system, radars, zodiac, liferafts, and seatbelts - all in quantities far exceeding the requirements.
Make the most of your trip!
